Glen a student from Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), currently pursuing his degree in Civil Engineering. Understanding the conserving Singapore’s ever-depleting landfill is a context that needs scrutiny, Glen finds it of utmost importance to tackle every aspect of food waste production as it is an ever-growing problem. Hence, together with his team members, they hope that through the implementation of a improved waste recycling system would encourage more interested parties to look at alternatives to help conserve the environment.

Interpersonal Conflict

Interpersonal communication skills have always been a key factor in resolving solutions whenever there is disagreement to range of problems. During my stay in Japan, I met with an interpersonal conflict which till this day I find it hard to resolve. My situation happened during the trip where there were disagreements with plans to visit certain sightseeing areas. We had the trip planned and refined three months before the trip. There were 3 of us in the group in which we decided to split up the research and workload. However, Adrian did not have prior knowledge and have not visited the country before. Hence, I offered to help plan the itinerary, which was his original job. Pleased with the plan and decisions, we stuck to the proposed idea. Critical Reflection

Throughout this course, I personally feel that I have achieved the goals that I have set for myself from the start of this course. Although I was good in delivering messages and ideas through the group, I had anxiety when presenting in front of a crowd. However, through the practice of public speaking and practicing elevator pitches, it helped me gain confidence in public speaking. Learning from the exercises in class, I was able to reflect on my mistakes and make constant improvements in presenting. In terms of report writing, there are aspects that needs improvement.   Realising that I was not a grammar nerd, I was constantly making little mistakes in my report writing. However, through the course, I was learning along the way with proper use of language and sentence structure. This would be one area that takes time and practice and I am contented that this module accelerated my learning process. Our project group faced challenges in deciding on the direction of the report.
