In the article, “Hotel New World Collapse,” Kayat (2012) described the theories and reasoning of this catastrophe. The author discussed about the history, chronology of events and various theories. According to “Chronology of Events,” (1987, as cited in Kayat, 2012), Kayat mentioned that various theories like internal explosions resulted by gas leakage or terrorism, defective building materials, poor soil foundation and additional live load were made. However, these phenomena were not the causes to the failure after further examination. Kayat also stressed that the failure was progressive and was due to initial inferior structure design and insufficient maintenance. As by Neale mentioned, (2001, as cited in Kayat, 2012), the building self-weight was overlooked in the calculations done by the engineers and draughtsman. Interpersonal Conflict

Interpersonal communication skills have always been a key factor in resolving solutions whenever there is disagreement to range of problems. During my stay in Japan, I met with an interpersonal conflict which till this day I find it hard to resolve. My situation happened during the trip where there were disagreements with plans to visit certain sightseeing areas. We had the trip planned and refined three months before the trip. There were 3 of us in the group in which we decided to split up the research and workload. However, Adrian did not have prior knowledge and have not visited the country before. Hence, I offered to help plan the itinerary, which was his original job. Pleased with the plan and decisions, we stuck to the proposed idea.
